This is a personal project I took on for a friend. She recently sold the site but it was fun riding the wave while it lasted! This was my first e-commerce project and was a great learning experience. From researching open source shopping cart solutions, the setup and customization of said system to the purchase and implementation of the ssl certificate and training the client how to use the cms, my mind was spinning out of control for several months but it was great! The site is no longer managed by me and the new owner has changed the business name. It is currently The Kids Kloset and can be found here.

As one of iNk’s long time clients, Brunswick Square Shopping Centre approached us for a new website. It had to be relatively simple to update and include a number of features, including a dynamic cruise ship schedule (to be pulled from another website and presented in a responsive table) as well as an event calendar and wayfinding feature to name a few. www.brunswicksquare.ca is a WordPress website full of custom fields, custom post types and custom page templates for easy editing. It’s been a labour of love and great learning opportunity to take my WordPress and web development knowledge to the next level! I’m a huge advocate of WordPress and throw myself at any opportunity that comes up to further challenge my skills. In my spare time, you’ll likely find me on Lynda.com, Treehouse.com or reading through the codex in an attempt to soak it all in.

A website designed for Standard Machinery & Equipment. It is done from scratch, no templates or prebuilt framework here folks! I really think I’m starting to get the hang of this. It could probably still use a couple media queries though. It is a w3c compliant HTML5 website which contains css3 transitions, form with validation, modernizr, polyfiller, Google Analytics and map. I even incorporated Twitter Cards and Facebook Open Graph meta information for enhanced social sharing. www.standardmachinery.ca

This is one of the first “real life” websites I did working at iNk. I actually started on it while on my practicum placement. Billy’s objective was to make the general public aware that they are not only a restaurant but also a fish market. We ended up separating the site into the two unique aspects of his business and the market is doing much better. Although you must choose between the market and the restaurant on the homepage, it is important to give the user an easy way to switch between them. It is equally crucial to cross promote the two.
